Is this the same as fire engineering?
No. A retrospective strategy documents how an existing building works and what sustains its safety. It is not a chartered fire engineering analysis, and we do not offer fire engineering. If your building needs that input we’ll say so and tell you what to look for.
Why would I need one?
Most often a lender, insurer, warranty provider or enforcing authority has asked for the fire strategy and none exists. Older buildings frequently have no surviving documentation at all.
Can you produce one without original drawings?
Yes. That is precisely what a retrospective strategy is for. We survey the building as built and record our assumptions and limitations openly.
